By including this public figure on this wiki, we are not necessarily implying they are incel (involuntarily celibate) or are in any way associated with incels. Furthermore, with regards to any actual incels listed on this wiki, inceldom is a life circumstance, not an insult or a movement/community.
Wilhelm Reich was an Austrian doctor and psychoanalyst who famously asserted that sexual deprivation (eg inceldom) was the cause of most social ills, including right-wing politics (in his mind).
He generally considered sexual release the most basic human need. To him, orgasmic energy was the fundamental force in the universe (what he called "Orgone energy"). This is something most governments still don't recognize.
Wilhelm developed a complicated and surrealist worldview (like Charles Fourier) that he generally wanted people to follow along with. His theories on human sexuality had profound impact of political commentating and theorizing, particularly among leftists and fascists.
Reich maintained that the orgasm was a vital release from buildup of, "biological energy", that builds up naturally. He believed most of his patients didn't orgasm enough or experience enough satisfaction of their libido. He considers libido, "energy", as a physical force which could be measured objectively.
Reich maintained that conservative upbringings caused illness by creating too much of a separation between sexual desire/need and values. This illness, Reich believed leads to the hikikomori phenomena. Reich believed that through mentally separating from such an upbringing would lead to more capability to have sex.
Willhelm vs Freud
Freud argued that sexuality must be adapted to the exiting culture, as he argued culture took precedence over everything else. Willhelm maintained that meeting people's basic needs were more important than assimilation to culture.
He worked within socialist and communist parties in Germany, as well as among other working class citizens to educate others about his views of sexuality. He was very much a political outsider for his time. For example, he was denounced by the Communist Party, and expelled from the International Psychoanalytic Association, and also opposed the rise of the Nazi party.
Contemporary fascists such as Richard Spencer have reiterated his talking points, however Richard later explicitly stated he thinks William is wrong. Angela Nagle took a similar view to William in her book, "Kill all Normies", blaming the entire birth of the alt-right on inceldom, a view she also reiterated on ABC News in agreement with an ABC news anchor.
